Basketball & Netball Program Manager

Summary

The Basketball & Netball Program (BNPM) manager works in collaboration with and reports to the Director of Sports and Activities (DSA). The BNPM will oversee all aspects of the CIS Basketball & Netball programs including coaching, game timetabling, calendar planning, coach and referee recruitment, event organisation and facility management.

Duties & Responsibilities

The BNPM works with the DSA in piloting the vision, development, implementation and management of the school’s Basketball & Netball programs. The BNPM duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coaching one or more of the CIS Secondary Basketball teams.
  • Coordinating and organising participation in HKSSF, ISSFHK & PASS Basketball & Netball competitions.
  • Working in partnership with relevant external providers and organisations.
  • Preparing, managing and reporting on the SA budget and related financial matters.
  • Managing the internal facilities bookings system and online management systems for all Basketball & Netball programmes.
  • Liaising with Primary and Secondary administration with regard to facility bookings and calendar planning.
  • Coordinating and overseeing any overseas travel arrangements related to Basketball & Netball whenever needed in conjunction with the Heads of Primary and Secondary.
  • Supervising and assuring the quality of all coaches and other personnel provided by outside organizations with which CIS contracts.
  • Working with the DSA to evaluate and improve the Basketball & Netball programmes on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborating with the DSA to ensure the SA department’s fulfilment of CIS child protection and safeguarding policies;
Qualifications and Experience

CIS is seeking a highly qualified and experienced person to assume the role of BNPM, preferably with the qualifications and experience outlined below:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or relevant industry experience.
  • Appropriate qualifications or experience in both Basketball & Netball.
  • Experience implementing and coordinating youth sports programs.
  • Recent success as a coach in a youth basketball or netball league is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated affinity for working with students, parents, teachers, coaches and other community stakeholders.

Director of Communications

Department of Development, Alumni & Community Relations

Seek a seasoned professional interested in joining a dynamic dual-language school and ready to take on and shape this new role, responsible for integrated oversight and management of the school’s communications and branding, including but not limited to community messaging, website, social media presence and other marketing and touch points.

The person should be a native English speaker with outstanding writing and copy-editing skills, strong Chinese abilities preferred (Mandarin, Cantonese or both), good verbal and interpersonal skills, comfortable with various media and new technologies, willing to roll up their sleeves, and also able to provide insight in areas such as crisis communications and data privacy.

Reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the full Development and Community Relations team of 7 persons, including managing the team’s Communications Associate. Also works with in-house graphic designer.

Minimum 8 years experience in communications, public relations, marketing, media, publishing, translation, or other relevant fields. Familiarity with educational institutions, fundraising and alumni relations is helpful.
