AF & Year 6
This Year 6 student recalls the exciting cross-school impact of Artist-in-Residence Julia Vogl, from November 2015, as well as the many other Fellows-in-Residence who have come to campus over the years.
Ms. Vogl calls herself a “social sculptor”, and her month-long residency involved getting students and teachers from every year level to start finger knitting, and then to “vote” with their knitting on what community means to them. She then arm knit everyone’s knitting into the tapestry seen in the photo - creating a tangible record of how CIS sees itself.
Ms. Vogl also taught students a variety of print techniques, and used her prints to create a temporary installation in the Moongate and car park.
