Service Programme

CIS is proud to be the only school in Hong Kong that provides weekly volunteer opportunities for all of its students. With over 30 service projects designed and managed by our inspirational Year 12 service leaders, students have the chance to address authentic needs in underserved communities across Hong Kong. These projects are active, sustained, and transformative—ensuring hands-on engagement that creates lasting change for both the community and the students themselves.

Our Mission

At CIS, service is not just a program—it’s a philosophy that inspires everything we do. Guided by our mission, "To Seek and To Serve," we empower students to harness their unique talents to make a meaningful difference in the world. Over the past decade, our service initiatives have fostered empathy, collaboration, and purpose, encouraging students to contribute toward a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Rooted in reciprocity, our service program builds meaningful relationships with local communities in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. Acts of service benefit not only the people we support but also our students, fostering compassion, purpose, and even improved mental well-being. From teaching Cantonese to domestic workers to offering robotics lessons to students at Band Three schools, our students actively address diverse community needs, learning that their actions can create a ripple effect of positive impact.

Our Model

At CIS, student agency thrives. Our service projects are entirely student-led, with students taking full ownership of their initiatives—from identifying community needs and partnering with NGOs to shaping the structure of their volunteering sessions. Many of these projects are supported by the Student Dream Fund, where students can submit applications to bring their ideas to life. This approach empowers students to engage with community members in real-life scenarios, forging lasting partnerships and creating a meaningful, positive impact.
