Whole School Choir
The Whole School Choir offers a shared evening of music-making and is core to developing community spirit.
Students have the chance to learn and practice both solo and part singing across a range of genres and styles in Chinese and English. The Whole School Choir performs at events both on and off-campus, providing a wonderful avenue for our CIS Hangzhou students to connect with the wider Hangzhou community.
Students without prior experience are encouraged to learn new skills and find enjoyment in this most basic and portable of art forms that can be readily pursued wherever they may find themselves in their future lives.

Individual Music Lessons
CIS Hangzhou has an established, well-resourced and flexible peripatetic programme open to all and is able to accommodate private lessons for most instruments. On arrival, students will meet with the Co-Curricular Instrumental Music Liaison Teacher to arrange lessons and, when possible, ensemble involvement.

Music Ensembles
Each year, depending on the strengths and needs of students, different small ensembles are created and supported, as appropriate, by both CIS Hangzhou staff and peripatetic teachers. Students have opportunities to perform both on and off-campus.
