Your Journey...
In order to move on in your journey, you must complete some background information on the industrial revolution. At this stop, you are going to become an expert on the Industrial Revolution through writing. The key to writing, as any journalist will tell you, is something known as the 5WH. What is that you might ask? In its simplest form it is known as the what, where, when, why, who and how of a topic or subject. In order to understand the Industrial Revolution and its historical and future impact you need to know about it. This is where your journey begins.
First Step
You must answer a series of questions listed below and then write a one page paper highlighting the major points of the industrial revolution. Your research for the questions can be done in groups (no more than four to a group), but your one page paper must be done individually based on the information you (and your group) find.
Answer the following questions:

• What was the industrial revolution?
  
• Where did it begin? Did it offshoot and take place anywhere else?
  
• When did it take place? When did it end?
  
• Why did it take place?
  
• Who was (what countries were) involved in the industrial revolution?
  
• How did it take place? How did it develop?
  
• Using England and America as examples, what was life like before, during and after the industrial revolution? Give examples.
  
• What was the societal impact of this revolution?
